-------------------

Uganda is home to the largest number of remaining wild mountain gorillas as well as healthy populations of wild chimpanzees, tree climbing lions and an array of other African wildlife. During this 10-day journey, you'll have the chance to go behind-the-scenes trekking through equatorial rainforest with a gorilla vet to learn about gorilla health. Come face-to-face with these magnificent creatures and collect samples that help gorilla conservationists determine the health of the local population.

Along the way, you'll also have the chance to trek with wild chimps through Kibale National Forest, go on safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park and join a conservationist in a quest to find the elusive tree climbing lions. Cruise in a boat along the Kazinga channel to spot wild hippos and elephants, visit a local school and women's empowerment organization and relax at some of the finest lodges that Uganda has to offer.
